Provenance Index
The Provenance Index databases contain indexed transcriptions of material from auction catalogues and archival inventories of western European works of art. They contain nearly 1,000,000 records from the late 16th to the early 20th century. The databases are available free of charge via the Web.

Database of the art works recuperated by the Dutch government after World War Two which have not (yet) been returned to the rightful owners or their heirs. These art objects constitute the NK Collection (Nederlands Kunstbezit Collectie).

The Print Council of America
An organization of curators of prints, drawings and photography in the United States that maintains a useful website with a free, user-friendly database of catalogues raisonnés of printmakers and photographers. Also provides links to other sites about prints.
CADENS: A Computerised Compilation of Contemporary Art at Dutch Exhibitions in the Nineteenth S(C)entury
CADENS is a project in progress aimed at tracing and describing all Dutch 19th-century exhibition catalogues of contemporary visual arts and analyzing their contents. Part of the contents can be accessed on the Internet. CADENS is compiled by Constant Cuijpers, Radboud University Nijmegen.
Bildindex der Kunst und Architektur
Large online database containing one and a half million reproductions of buildings, art works and other (art) objects in Germany. Based on the image database Marburger Index, originally issued on microform and available in larger academic institutions.
