Rembrandt devoted as much of his energies to printmaking as to painting. His career as an etcher spanned more than 30 years, during which he executed a broad range of subjects -- studies of separate figues and heads, formal portraits, landscapes, scenes from daily life, still lifes, and above all, stories from the Bible. All these subjects are represented, including 81 of the finest impressions from a collection renowned for its scope and quality.
