Together with Willem de Rooij, the Centraal Museum presents the first monographic exhibition on Dirk Valkenburg (1675-1721). With a keen eye for detail, he captured life on the plantations of Surinam, as well as still lifes and portraits. Willem de Rooij, known for his reflective installations, adds a unique contemporary dimension to the exhibition.
