Charles I: King and Collector Conference

Research Conference: 12 April 2018

On the occasion of the landmark exhibition Charles I: King and Collector, this conference seeks to investigate the shape and development of Charles I’s collection. Selected papers will explore the internal and external factors that had a significant impact on collecting habits at the Stuart court, highlighting the latest research from a wide range of disciplines and themes.

Speakers include the exhibition curators Per Rumberg and Desmond Shawe-Taylor, as well as Andrea Bacciolo, Justin Davies, Erin Griffey, Maria Cristina Terzaghi, Peter Humfrey, Karen Hearn, Margaret Dalivalle Emily Burns, and Lucy Whitaker.
