The Hamburger Kunsthalle conserves one of the most important and beautiful collections of Dutch and Flemish drawings from the 16th and 17th centuries. At the occasion of the publication of the catalogue raisonné of these drawings, the Fondation Custodia was invited to choose hundred of the most beautiful works, which will be shown at the Institut Néerlandais. It is the first time that the French public will be able to discover these highlights in Paris. The 16th century will be represented by famous Flemish artists as Gerard David and Pieter Bruegel the Elder, and by Dutch masters as Maerten van Heemskerck, Hendrick Goltzius, Jacques de Gheyn, Roelant Savery and David Vinckboons. As for the 17th century, works will be shown by Avercamp, Rembrandt, Jacob van Ruisdael, Saenredam, Van Ostade, Van Dyck and Jordaens.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a free leaflet (in French), which describes the drawings on display. Possibility to buy the catalogue raisonné written by Annemarie Stefes (3 volumes, in German).
