TEFAF Invites Applications for its 2026 Curator Course and Museum Restoration Fund

The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF) announced the opening of applications for the 2026 editions of its Curator Course and the Museum Restoration Fund.

Curator Course

The TEFAF Curator Course is a program that brings together the academic world and the art market. It offers an exceptional opportunity for (emerging) museum curators and directors to gain expertise, insights, and networking. The course, in collaboration with Maastricht University, is a unique chance for participants to learn from seasoned international colleagues, members of the TEFAF Vetting community, and renowned art dealers who are experts in their specialized field.

Applications for the third edition of the TEFAF Curator Course 2026 are due by Wednesday, 1 October 2025 (6pm CET).  Questions about the program should be directed to curator-course-sbe@maastrichtuniversity.nl or +31 433 8 38 38 38.

See the TEFAF website for a brochure and the application portal.

Museum Restoration Fund

The TEFAF art community has been supporting the restoration of museum artworks since 2012 through the TEFAF Museum Restoration Fund (TMRF). The main objective of this fund is to provide financial aid for the professional restoration and research of significant museum pieces. Public museums from around the globe are welcome to apply for the grant, and any artwork from any period can receive up to €50,000 per year.

The TMRF application for 2026 is now open and will close on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 at 6pm CET. This is a wonderful opportunity to secure the funding you need to restore and potentially revitalize a work of art in your collection. Museums are strongly encouraged to apply.
