The Museo del Prado has recently announced a position of “Conservador de pintura flamenca y de las escuelas del norte, desde 1500” (“Curator of Flemish and Northern European Paintings, from 1500”. The deadline for submitting an application for the selection process is November 24.

The starting salary for the position is 58.267,72 euros (pretax).

An undergraduate degree in art history is a requirement; a Ph.D. degree will be highly valued. Also important are experience in museum work, and publications in the field.

The selection process will take place in Spanish. A very high conversational level of English and reading knowledge of Dutch and German are also requirements for the position. Reading knowledge of French will also be valued.

The position is open to citizens of nations of the European Union, of other countries that have signed treatises that allow their citizens to work in the European Union, and to all who reside legally in Spain.
