The National Museum of Norway has formally reattributed an anonymous still life in its storage collection to the Flemish master Clara Peeters (ca. 1587–after 1636).

During research for the forthcoming exhibition Woman Painter, curator Cynthia Osiecki identified key physical and stylistic evidence pointing directly to Peeters. Analysis revealed that the panel support of the Oslo painting originated from a supplier the artist used regularly. Furthermore, Still Life with Small Game and Grapes on a Gilded Tazza appears to have once exhibit a common motif of Peeters: minute self-portraits embedded in reflective surfaces—a defining characteristic of her pioneering oeuvre in still-life painting.
