CODART, Dutch and Flemish art in museums worldwide

Figge Art Museum

Information

The Figge Art Museum’s collection of fifteenth- through eighteenth-century Dutch and Flemish art includes works of exceptional quality. Among its more than 30 paintings are The Singing Lute Player, attributed to Hendrick ter Brugghen; The Parable of the Good Shepherd by Pieter Brueghel the Younger; Village Fête by Joost Cornelisz Droochsloot; and The Holy Family with Saint John the Baptist by Jan Boeckhorst.

Prints also constitute a significant part of the museum’s broader Northern European holdings, with examples by Rembrandt van Rijn, Anthony van Dyck, Albrecht Dürer, Paulus Potter, and others. Tapestries and additional decorative arts further enrich the collection and help tell the story of this important period in European art history.
