Painting by Leonard Bramer Sought by Judith Mann

CODART member Judith Mann, Curator of European Art to 1800, at the Saint Louis Art Museum, asks for your help in locating a specific painting by Leonard Bramer. She has been preparing an exhibition on the use of stone as a painting support called Paintings on Stone: Science and the Sacred, 1530-1800 that will open in February of 2022. The catalogue was published in December 2020. The Bramer painting was sold at the Sotheby’s New York January 26, 2006 sale, where it was identified as an episode from the life of St. James the Greater. (their page)
