The Historians of Netherlandish Art (HNA) call for session and workshop proposals for their conference in 2010 in Amsterdam, deadline 15 February

From the organization website

The conference program committee is soliciting session and workshop proposals for the upcoming conference of the Historians of Netherlandish Art to be held in Amsterdam, 27-29 May 2010. The title chosen for the conference is “Crossing Boundaries” and we welcome suggestions which address the erection, dismantling and breaching of boundaries, natural and artificial, in the widest possible sense: geographical, methodological, temporal, political, artistic, as well as the boundaries imposed by and on the different media. Contributions will also be considered which examine the rich cultural heritage of our host city, Amsterdam, and surrounding artistic centers. As part of the conference activities we hope to visit the exhibition Willem van Haecht en de Antwerpse kunstkamer (The Hague, Mauritshuis) and thus invite proposals related to the genre but also on the wider aspects of collecting and display. Sessions will be two hours long with a maximum of four papers. Session chairs and speakers must be members of HNA at the time of the conference.

We also invite proposals for workshops in which relatively small groups of people discuss particular issues in the field. Topics can but must not be related to the overall conference theme, and we especially encourage suggestions which focus on and possibly take place in Amsterdam’s many cultural institutions (Rijksmuseum, Amsterdams Historisch Museum, Maritime Museum, Rembrandthuis, the former Town Hall (now Royal Palace), churches etc.). Workshops serve to stimulate dialog and proposals should outline how discussion will be generated. Please state your maximum number of participants.

Prospective session and workshop proposals should be sent via e-mail by  15 February 2009 to:
Fiona Healy, Seminarstr. 7, 55127 Mainz, Germany
Email: FionaHealy@aol.com

Submissions will be acknowledged via email.
