Among Friends

Exhibition: 25 November 2023 - 28 April 2024

The exhibition Among Friends will explore the museum’s recent and more distant past, with a focus on the people who have donated gifts and legacies of old and modern art.

Among Friends (Onder Vrienden) highlights the generosity of the dozens of collectors whose passion for art has ensured the future of beloved objects large and small. By entrusting them to the MSK, they have also tremendously enriched the museum’s collection. The exhibition also looks to the future, linking objects in the museum to works owned by contemporary private collectors, with whom the MSK has forged close ties over the past decades. Among friends is experimental in nature, zooming in on works that are more often hidden away in intimate settings, but also establishing links between the past and present.
