CODART, Dutch and Flemish art in museums worldwide

An international colloquium on James Ensor

Symposium: 24 February 2011

Organised by the Museum of Fine Arts, Ghent and the Flemish Art Collection
in collaboration with S.M.A.K. and FARO

The exhibition Hareng Saur: Ensor and Contemporary Art is the final part of a series of recent events and exhibitions that have taken place to mark the 150th anniversary of James Ensor’s birth (1860) and the 60th anniversary of the artists death (1949). To conclude, the Museum of Fine Arts is organising an Ensor colloquium. Curators involved in recent exhibitions will evaluate their projects and new findings in Ensor research will be discussed. The colloquium will also open paths for future research.
