Since the appearance of the most recent inventory of northern-school drawings in 1988, the Department of Graphic Art has not stood still in its acquisition of Dutch and Flemish drawings. Two recent major acquisitions – Joseph’s dream, by the Mannerist Karel van Mander (1548-1606) and an unpublished Fortune-teller by Gerrit van Honthorst (1592-1656) provide the occasion for an update.
