Presentation in the Temple
The Hague, Mauritshuis
N.B. ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE ON 17 SEPTEMBER. EXTENDED FOR A WEEK.
From the museum website
In anticipation of the Rembrandt year 2006, the Mauritshuis has restored three paintings by the master: Simeon’s song of praise of 1632, Homer of 1663 and the Self-portrait of 1669. The technical examinations and restorations were in part made possible by DSM. With the completion of this project, all of the Rembrandts in the Mauritshuis’ collection have now been restored. These three works will assume a prominent place in the museum’s Rembrandt Room in the early summer of 2006. Rembrandt’s other paintings in the permanent collection will be part of this special summer presentation.
