This interdisciplinary conference will explore the place of Dutch history and the influence of Dutch art, design, trade, religion, politics, philosophy, and culture in the U.S. during the past 4 centuries. From Henry Hudson to Piet Mondrian and beyond, this conference seeks to understand how and why β€œDutchism” (cf. Hispanism) has fared the way it has in America.
