Dirk Hannema and Hendrik Luitwieler in front of van Meegeren’s Supper at Emmaus, 1938
Museum information
Part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Hannema-de Stuers Foundation consists of a presentation of Hannema’s pseudo-Vermeers. These paintings are displayed in the main hall of Het Nijenhuis Castle. For this occasion, they are joined by the famous Supper at Emmaus, bought by Hannema for Museum Boymans as a Vermeer and exposed after the Second World War as a forgery by Han van Meegeren.
