Curator Alice Insley
14 December 2021 – 17:00 – 18:00 CET
Advance registration (free) is required

Curator Alice Insley (Tate Britain) gives a virtual tour of the exhibition Hogarth and Europe, which is on view at Tate Britain in London from 3 November 2021 to 20 March 2022. The exhibition brings together Hogarth’s greatest works with those of his peers across the continent – including Francesco Guardi in Venice, Chardin in Paris and Cornelis Troost in Amsterdam – to suggest the cross currents, parallels and sympathies that crossed borders.

This talk is the second in the series De moderne stad verbeeld! organized by the 18e eeuw werkgroep. For more information and to register for this event, see this page. For other lectures in the series, see achttiendeeeuw.wordpress.com.
