The Très Riches Heures of Jean duc de Berry is one of the most famous manuscripts in the world. It was illuminated in the 15th century by the brothers Paul, Jean and Hermann de Limbourg, and later by Barthélemy d’Eyck and Jean Colombe.
For the first time, the original manuscript will be put on public display, in relation with an exhibition devoted to Parisian art at the beginning of the 15th century in the musée du Louvre in Paris.
Other contemporary masterpieces among the illuminated manuscripts in the duke’s collection be will presented in the display cases in the Cabinet des livres and will offer a panorama of French manuscript painting in the years around 1400.
The exhibition of the original manuscript will be accompanied by a digitalized presentation of the entire manuscript.

Le manuscrit des Très Riches Heures du duc Jean de Berry est un des plus célèbres au monde. Il fut enluminé au XVe siècle par les frères Paul, Jean et Hermann de Limbourg, et plus tard par Barthélemy d’Eyck et Jean Colombe. Pour la première fois depuis une trentaine d’années, le manuscrit original sera exposé, à l’occasion d’une exposition consacrée à l’art à Paris au début du XVe siècle, au musée du Louvre, à Paris.
D’autres chefs-d’œuvre de même époque, parmi les manuscrits enluminés du duc d’Aumale, seront présentés dans le cabinet des Livres afin d’offrir un panorama du manuscrit français à peintures autour de 1400. L’exposition des Très Riches Heures du duc Jean de Berry sera accompagnée d’une présentation numérique de l’ensemble des pages du manuscrit.
