An exhibition of approximately 100 prints and drawings by Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher (1898-1972), who is most recognized for creating in his work mind-boggling spatial illusions and intricate repeating geometric patterns (tessellations). Works on display consist of classic Escher images that continue to fascinate audiences, artists, mathematicians, and scientists alike.
Also on view in the Israel Museum until the end of the year 2003 is
Animal, vegetable, mineral: still-life paintings by European masters, mainly of work from the Low Countries.
