An all-day symposium including a series of three lectures followed by a panel discussion on Rembrandt and Rembrandt School drawings. The symposium will feature the world’s leading authorities on Rembrandt.
10:00 am – Introduction, Peter C. Sutton, Executive Director, Bruce Museum
10:15 am – Remarks on Collecting, George Abrams
11:00 am – The Drawings of Jan Lievens, Gregory Rubinstein, Senior Director, Head of Old Master Drawings, Sotheby’s Worldwide
12 Noon – Lunch Break (lunch on your own)
1:30 pm – Nicolaes Maes as a Draftsman, Dr. William W. Robinson, Maida and George Abrams Curator of Drawings, Harvard Art Museums/Fogg Museum
2:15 pm – The Drawings of Govert Flinck, Peter Schatborn, Former Head of the Rijksprentenkabinet, Amsterdam
3:00 pm – Panel Discussion with all of the above.
