The Dutch East India Company (VOC) was founded to join the forces of several privately founded trading companies. The VOC lasted for almost 200 years and during its existence a lot happened that also had its influence on coins and medals. In a small exhibition a tale will be told on the basis of these objects: a tale of smuggling, shipwreck, war and spices.
