Rembrandt de verteller: etsen uit de verzameling Frits Lugt.

Rembrandt the narrator: etchings from the Frits Lugt collection Exhibition: 13 April - 3 September 2006

From the museum website

From 13 April to 3 September 2006 Rembrandt the narrator: etchings from the Frits Lugt collection shows Rembrandt’s skill in depicting stories in his etchings. The direct and convincing way in which he works the subjects, which vary from everyday scenes to biblical and mythological stories, is very distinctive. Frits Lugt (1884-1970), an authority on Rembrandt, collected all the etchings made by Rembrandt during his career. This famous collection is being loaned to an exhibition for the first time in its entirety.

(This exhibition replaces the planned Rembrandt at Court exhibition).
