From 6-8 December 2018 the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna organizes the symposium The Hand of the Master Materials and Techniques of Pieter Bruegel the Elder in conjunction with the monograph exhibition Bruegel. This exhibition is curated by Elke Oberthaler, Sabine Pénot, Manfred Sellink and Ron Spronk, with Alice Hoppe-Harnoncourt and is on view from 2 October 2018 until 13 Januari 2019.

The symposium will focus on the materials, techniques and creative process of Pieter Bruegel the Elder. New research findings on panel paintings, Tüchlein, and drawings will be presented.
