The renovation of the nearly 100-year-old building of the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts currently includes a new presentation of the most significant part of its collection, the Old Masters Gallery. A new display of the German and Austrian schools, curated by Ilona Balogh,Eszter Fábry and Annamária Gosztola, opened last year to general acclaim. In the refurbished wing of the museum, a new selection of 17th-century Dutch paintings opened to the public at the end of March 2004; a new arrangement of the early Netherlandish and 17th-century Flemish paintings was inaugurated at the end of May.
