(The original closing date was 7 October.)

Years of research have led to surprising new insights in Van Gogh’s way of working. Based on a selection of his drawings, attention is paid to Van Gogh’s stylistic development, use of materials, technique and experimentation and consequently the place that these works occupy in his oeuvre.

The exhibition features works spanning Van Gogh’s entire career as an artist, which began in the Netherlands and ended in France. However, the emphasis lies on the works he executed during the last two years of his life (1889-1890). In addition special attention will be paid to several early drawings that have been added to the museum collection in recent years.
