Vermeer and Rembrandt: The Masters of the 17th Century Dutch Golden Age

After being closed for repairs for a year, the Fukushima Prefectural Museum reopens with Vermeer and Rembrandt: The Masters of the 17th Century Dutch Golden Age. Fukushima is the third venue of this exhibition that was earlier in on show in Kyoto and Tokyo.

The exhibition introduces painters who played an active part at the time of the Dutch Golden Age through sixty works of art. Along with Vermeer, Rembrandt, culture at the time and life of people revive in front of us by work of great masters who colored the golden age including Frans Hals, Jan steen, Pieter de Hooch and Pieter Claesz.
