Exhibition: 17 November - 28 January 2017

Museo Lázaro Galdiano presents the Flemish paintings collected by José Lázaro and his wife Paula Florido in the exhibition Una colección redescubierta. Tablas flamencas del Museo Lázaro Galdiano. Many paintings by artists from the Low Countries be shown, such as Jheronimus Bosch, Gerard David, Adriaen Isenbrant, Quentin Metsys, Bernard van Orley, and Marcellus Coffermans.

The exhibition focuses on the influence of Flemish painters in the cities they worked. For example, the influence of Van Orley in Brussels, Hans Memling and Gerard David in Bruges or Quentin Metsys in Antwerp. To show this, the paintings in the exhibition are grouped according to the city in which they were created.

Additionally, the exhibition presents many new attributions, underdrawings of almost all paintings and the identification of the represented plants in the paintings.
