Casa dos Patudos in Alpiarça, near Lisbon, is the most important house-museum of Portugal. It was founded in 1904 by Dr. José Relvas, the founder of the Portuguese Republic. The museum owns a large collection of Portuguese and European painting, including c. 50 paintings from Dutch and Flemish Masters, especially from the 16th and 17th centuries.
