Information

Godwin-Ternbach Museum (GTM) has a world class encyclopedic collection of 7,000 works of art and artifacts. GTM’s holdings in pre-1800 Flemish and Dutch art comprise 57 works. Among those are Charles V of Spain by Antonis Mor, Landscape attributed to Salomon van Ruysdael, Portrait of a Nobleman by Cornelis Janssens van Ceulen, and Fete Champetre by Francois Eisen. Other paintings include works by Workshop of Rubens, Grimmer, Van Ostade, Poorter, Van Schrieck, and Wouwerman.   

A bister ink drawing attributed to Rembrandt depicts Christ Praying on the Mount of Olives. Sculptural objects include Dinanderie figures of The Virgin and St. John the Evangelist, Figure of the Virgin Annunciate, a ‘speaking’ Reliquary Bust in polychromed wood, a terracotta plaque of the Christ Child, and a wooden Figurine of Mary Magdalene  

The balance of the collection is comprised of etchings and engravings by Pontius, Rembrandt, Bolswert, Van Ruisdael, Waterloo, Brueghel, Van Leyden, and Vorsterman.
