MUba Eugène Leroy

Information

The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Tourcoing, which was formerly known as the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Tourcoing, adopted the name Eugène Leroy in 2009 after accepting a donation of that painter’s works. It was established in 1888, and in 1931 moved into a private mansion specially refurbished to accommodate its collections. These comprise paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, videos, and installations from the sixteenth to the twenty-first centuries.

The Flemish and Dutch group is made up of paintings and engravings. The paintings are by Hieronymus Galle (I), Daniël Seghers, David Teniers (I), Theodoor Rombouts, Jan van Pee, Jacques des Rousseaux, Frans Francken (II), and others. The engravings collection includes sheets by Hieronymus Cock, Hendrick Goltzius, Lucas Vorsterman (I), Rembrandt, Adriaen van Ostade, Cornelis Bega, Jan Both, Nicolaes Berchem, and Jan van de Velde (II).
