Het Noordbrabants Museum Seeks Successor to Director Charles de Mooij

Het Noordbrabants Museum is looking for a new director as Charles de Mooij has announced to leave the museum in July after having worked 36 years for the museum in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

De Mooij joined Het Noordbrabants Museum in 1986 and became responsible for the historical department and for the organization of culture-historical exhibitions. In 1998 he was appointed chief curator and in 2000 deputy director. In 2007 he succeeded Jan van Laarhoven as managing director. In the following years, De Mooij oversaw the renovation and expansion of the museum and its reopening in 2013. Under the leadership of Charles de Mooij, the Noordbrabants Museum became the most visited museum in the southern Netherlands. One of the highlights was the Jheronimus Bosch exhibition in 2016, which was visited by more than 400,000 visitors from 81 countries in 12 weeks.

The museum aims to appoint a new director in April. See the vacancy text (in Dutch) for more information.
