The Louvre owns several paintings by the artist, but this one is particularly fit for the purpose of an "Oeuvre en scène," a lecture for the general public by the head of a Louvre department. Blaise Ducos, head of the department of Dutch and Flemish painting (École du Nord), will bring the painting to the stage before the public with a videocamera placed in front of it. The image obtained will be shown on a large screen, so that details can be fully scrutinized.

Attention of this kind for an artist as Van der Werff in this well-attended series will highlight for the general public the importance of the Dutch and Flemish collections displayed in the Richelieu wing.
