Jordaens Van Dyck Panel Paintings Project Launches Website

The Jordaens and Van Dyck Panel Paintings Project (JVDPPP),  an innovative multidisciplinary art historical initiative co-founded by Dr. Joost Vander Auwera, Senior Curator of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts Belgium and Drs. Justin Davies (PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam), has recently launched its introductory website, www.jordaensvandyck.org

Over the next three years, the website will be populated and developed with new archival documents (in the original language and English), out of copyright articles (translated into English), findings and new information about Jordaens and Van Dyck, their lives and careers, paintings on panels and Antwerp panel makers and their marks.

CODART members are kindly invited to sign up for update notifications and newsletters on the ‘Contacts’ section of the website.

JVDPPP has already begun to examine all known and accessible Jordaens and Van Dyck related panels in public and private collections. Over the course of the project (until 2020) JVDPPP will continue to write to curators with related panels in their collections, with a request to examine them. Please contact the project if you have a previously unrecorded panel lurking in your storage or collection.
