Last week, Museum Prinsenhof Delft presented its brand-new website, which provides online access to its entire collection for the first time. A long-cherished wish has finally come true.
Museum Prinsenhof Delft holds a rich collection of more than 16.000 objects, across media and genre. Highlights include Maarten van Heemskerck’s Lamentation (1566) and works by Delft masters such as Michiel van Mierevelt (1566-1641) and Jan Schoonhoven (1914-1994), famed Delftware and numerous artefacts relating to one of the Prinsenhof’s most illustrious former residents: William of Orange (1533-1584).
The new database makes this varied collection of Dutch and Flemish painting and a variety of decorative arts from Delft, amongst other things, accessible. Explore the new collection database via the website of the museum. Please note that the database is still in progress: the museum continues to add details and descriptions to the objects and will continue this important work in the coming years.
