Chris Stolwijk Leaves the RKD

After leading the RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History in The Hague for over twelve and a half years, General Director Chris Stolwijk announced his departure yesterday. He is embarking on a new chapter in his career.

Stolwijk expressed his gratitude, saying, “I thank the RKD and all its staff for the wonderful time I had at the RKD. I look back on it with great satisfaction and pride. Now it is time for something new, both for me and for the RKD.”

Under the directorship of Chris Stolwijk, the RKD took its first steps toward digital transformation and contributed to numerous exhibitions and research projects both nationally and internationally, the board of the RKD noted in the press release.
