The editors of Simiolus, the Netherlands Quarterly for the History of Art, have informed us of the loss of their long-time editor, Michael Hoyle (1943-2024).
Hoyle began translating Dutch art historical literature in the 1970s and quickly established himself as a highly sought-after translator. Over the past decades, he has translated numerous publications for Dutch museums, especially in the field of seventeenth-century art.
Please see the Simiolus website for an In Memoriam.
