In the latest edition of Curator in the Spotlight, David de Witt, Curator at The Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam, reflects on a career path that began with drawing lessons and led to a life dedicated to Rembrandt and his circle. David discusses his formative years working with the Bader Collection at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre and his transition to the Rembrandt House Museum, where he has organized major exhibitions on the master’s social network and pupils. He also shares exciting details about the newly established Alfred Bader Research Center and offers a preview of his upcoming project on the influence of the Ottoman and Persian empires on the art of Rembrandt and his time.
