With great pleasure CODART announces the publication of 100 Masterpieces Dutch and Flemish Art 1350-1750 – CODART Canon, published by Lannoo.
Together with 100 CODART members we have turned the CODART Canon into a book, in which all 100 objects are accompanied by inspiring texts and high-quality images. As of today, the book is available in bookstores near you and can be ordered on our revamped Canon website as well.

New website
Coinciding with the publication of our book, we also launch a completely revised CODART Canon website today. Here, all 100 masterpieces are accompanied by a short text written by the same CODART members who wrote for the book. The website entries also contain supplementary images and links to additional information, as well as essays, podcasts, etc. Each entry serves as a portal to learn more about the artwork. The website also includes a series of videos produced by CODART of which the first two, about the Spinario by Jan Gossart and a Pair of Wedding Gloves in the Rijksmuseum, are now available on canon.codart.nl

The CODART Canon
With the CODART Canon, the members of CODART present a selection from the extensive and diverse range of early modern Dutch and Flemish art that is disseminated throughout the world. In making the Canon, CODART aims to make the works of art more visible and demonstrate the breadth of this category in art history. We also want to stimulate discussion about art and the profession of curators. Being a curator involves making choices every day. What do you show and which narratives do you tell your audience?
