New CODARTfeature Published: ‘Feel the Heartbeat’ at Museum Sint-Janshospitaal

A new feature has been published on the CODART website.

In December 2023, Museum Sint-Janshospitaal opened its doors after ten months of closure to reveal a completely renewed permanent exhibition. In this feature, Marijn Everaarts and Geert Souvereyns share several of the challenges of this reinstallation of the collection, from dealing with a historically important building not designed to be a museum, to telling a clear story with a collection spanning centuries.

In 2023 the permanent exhibition of Museum Sint-Janshospitaal in Bruges was renewed. The museum tells the story of almost 900 years of care at this Bruges site. The St John’s Hospital is one of the oldest and best-preserved hospital buildings in Europe.Continue reading…
