This year marks the 400th anniversary of the birth of Rembrandt, and as part of the commemorations, the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum will hold a multidisciplinary meeting on this great 17th-century Dutch artist and his age. This event, proposed by Professor Carlos Couto S. C. (University of Lisbon/Aesthetic Philosophy), will involve various Portuguese and foreign specialists: Rui Vieira Nery (Music Department, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation / Lisbon New University), Mário Jorge Torres (University of Lisbon), Eduardo Batarda (Oporto Fine Arts School), Mario Perniola (University of Rome, Tor Vergata), Victor Stoichita (University of Friburg), Johannes Stückelberger (University of Basle / University of Friburg) and Tzevetan Todorov (guest professor at the Universities of Harvard, Yale and Columbia).
