Friends of CODART Board Changes and New Committee Members

Spring 2026 brings several transitions to the Board of the Friends of CODART, the Program Committee and the editorial board of the CODARTfeatures.

Friends of CODART Board

This month marked the final Friends of CODART board meeting for Dorien ter Haar. After six years of service, we thank Dorien—freelance communications advisor and Patron of CODART—for her creative ideas and the tireless enthousiasm she brought to the board.

Katharina Grosser

Joining the board is Katharina Grosser, who was appointed in November 2025. Drawing on her extensive experience in fundraising, sponsorship, and marketing, she offers cultural institutions a strategic and business-oriented approach through her Netherlands-based company, Funding Factory. The board is confident that Katharina’s background will contribute to the further professionalization of the Friends of CODART, and we look forward to our continued collaboration with her.

Program Committee

The Program Committee, responsible for advising on the content and programming of our activities, says a fond farewell to Adam Eaker. After six years of relying on Adam’s profound expertise and unwavering commitment, his final contribution was his excellent chairing of the “Room for Debate” session during the CODART congress in Ghent.

We are delighted to announce that the committee has been enriched by two new enthusiastic members. Elizabeth Cleland (Curator, European Sculpture and Decorative Arts, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York) joins us to represent tapestries, while also offering her perspective on developments in the American museum field. In addition, Lizzie Marx (Curator of Dutch and Flemish Art at the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin) has joined the committee to represent the field of seventeenth-century painting, bringing a fresh and keen perspective to the group. CODART looks forward to collaborating with Elizabeth and Lizzie and is confident that their appointments will be valuable for the entire CODART network.

CODARTfeatures Editorial Board

On the editorial board of the features, Anne van Oosterwijk and Bart Cornelis have made way for two new editors: Hannah Iterbeke (Curator of Old Masters at Museum Hof van Busleyden, Mechelen) and Christiaan Veldman (Curator of Medieval Art at Badisches Landesmuseum, Karlsruhe). Both will strengthen the board with their backgrounds in Early Modern art; Hannah focuses primarily on the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries in the Southern Netherlands, while Christiaan represents the broader Middle Ages. We extend our sincere thanks to Anne and Bart for their valuable contributions and critical editorial insights over the past years.
