The following request came to CODART from the staff of the Faculty of Conservation of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and Piotr Oczko, Professor of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

Researchers of the University are kindly asking for your help with the provenance research of a painting known as the Virgin Mary of Szczaworyz. It is usually attributed to an unknown Flemish master and dated circa 1660, although no literature is known to confirm this hypothesis. The researchers would like to know if there is any support for the attribution and if prototypes are known? Any advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
