Ron Spronk named Jheronimus Bosch Chair at the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen

Prof. Dr. Ron Spronk, member of CODART since 1999, has been named Jheronimus Bosch Chair at the Faculty of Arts at the Radboud University Nijmegen as of 1 September. Spronk (1957) is professor of Art History at Queen’s University in Kingston (Ontario, Canada). He studied art history at Indiana University in Bloomington (Indiana, USA) and at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (University of Groningen).

Dr. Spronk is specialized in Early Netherlandish painting and is currently working on the conservation and documentation of Jan van Eyck’s renowned Ghent Altarpiece. From 1993 to 2007 he held different functions at the Harvard University Art Museums in Cambridge (Massachusetts, USA). Ron Spronk has organized important exhibitions and published in particular over technical material research on Early Netherlandish painters.
