Conference announced by Queen’s University on the passions in the art of the Netherlands: call for papers

“The motions of the mind” is the title of a conference to be held on 18-19 November 2006 in Kingston, Ontario, at Queen’s University. It builds on recent interest in the depiction of the passions in Dutch and Flemish art, notably in the art of Rembrandt and Rubens. The conference broadens the scope to all art from the Netherlands ca. 1500 to 1750. A call for papers has been issued, with a deadline of 13 March 2006. See
