Hanna Klarenbeek succeeds Marieke Spliethoff as curator of paintings, prints and drawings at Paleis Het Loo

Today Hanna Klarenbeek succeeds Marieke Spliethoff as curator of paintings, prints and drawings at Paleis Het Loo in Apeldoorn. Klarenbeek is familiar with the museum. In 2012 her PhD research on female painters in the nineteenth century resulted in the exhibition Paint brush princesses at Het Loo. Previously she lectured at the University of Amsterdam and worked as a researcher at the Sculpture Institute.

Former curator Marieke Spliefhoff retired from Het Loo after working there for twelve years. For her extraordinary art historical work on the Orange-Nassau collections she received a high distinction in the House Order of Orange. Spliefhoff has been a member of CODART since 2004.
