Job description

Art Historian Internship with Dr. Maryan Ainsworth, Curator, European Paintings Department, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
$30,000. stipend, $5,000. travel grant, and $1500. for reimbursable health insurance. Begin September 2010 for 1-year appointment. Ph.D. candidate level with specialized knowledge of 15th-16th century northern European painting. Advanced language proficiency in German, French, and Dutch needed. Train in an interdisciplinary approach joining art historical concerns with the technical investigation of paintings; 2010-2011 project emphasis on exhibition on Jan Gossaert and on cataloguing of the early German and early Netherlandish paintings.
