Keizerskapel in Antwerp hit by fire

Information from nieuwsblad.be

Last Saturday the Keizerskapel has been hit by fire. There is considerable smoke damage, but the artworks present to celebrate the chapel’s 500th year were safely evacuated, although they do show some traces of dirt and soot. They are, among others works by Cornelis Schut, Jan Gossaert, Gaspar De Crayer, Erasmus Quellinus de Jonge and Thomas Willeboirts Bosschaert. The Antwerp fire department suspects that the fire has started from a fuse box.
