King Willem-Alexander opens the Mauritshuis

Yesterday, 27 June 2014, King Willem-Alexander re-opened the Mauritshuis after a two-year renovation and building campaign. The seventeenth-century city palace has been completely renovated. A new, subterranean entrance hall connects it to the new Royal Dutch Shell wing, which houses exhibition space, a restaurant and shop and educational facilities. From today the museum is open for regular visitors.
