Last week, the city council of Bruges has approved the foundation and funding of a study center for Burgundian Art in the low countries. Mayor Renaat Landuyt: “We want to emphasize that Bruges is the most important knowledge center for Burgundian art in the world”. The study center exists already, within the Groeningemuseum in Bruges, but it now wishes to strengthen ties with other museums as well.
